I have had my 4110 for 2 weeks now and love it. I have the 410 loader and a rear blade which I use for a counter wieght. The dealer tossed in a ballist box for free but it only hooks on the 3 point hitch not the I match that I have for the blade.

Question???? Help, Can a person have or cause to have the same get up on the blade (which is I matche) welded on the ballist box. So in effect make the box I Macth compatibale. I figure all I need is the bolts welded on the side with the bushing and weld a extention for the top left arm will fit. any ideas. I could not find any thing here on this site. Any help would be great.

Thanks to all of you.

P.S, can't wait until this week end I am having 28 tons of gravel brought to my river camp, I hope I have a inexperience driver that can not spread it very good so I can have plenty to play with.

have a great tractor week end.

Roger

I've had a few implements modified by local welding shops to be I-Match compatible. I'm sure your ballast box could be modified as well, but.... I may be wrong but I thought the JD ballast boxes were already I-Match compatible. If yours isn't you might ask your dealer about that. Maybe they gave you an older one and will swap you. ....

Well beggers cannot harp abouta freebee. The dealer just tossed it in the mix with the bid for free. I beat you are right about a new box would be i match but I do not want to push my luck and his gift. Thanks for your help. Maybe you can tell me on the I match equ. it seems to have a bushing or rollers. Should I get those from the dealer or have the welding shop come up with thier own parts.

Thanks

Roger. ....

Bushings and bolt-on pins should be available at any JD dealer. My advice is not to pay the $13 or so for I-Match bushings when you can buy standard bushings for around 50 cents each. You need a Cat-1 to Cat-2 bushing to fit inside a Cat-2 to Cat-3 bushing. Two bushings to bring Cat-1 pins to Cat-3 diameter. Cheap and easy.

It's unclear what exactly is incompatible about your box. I've encountered several incompatibilites. One is where the top pin is too far vertically from the bottom pins (IIRC I-Match is 15"). Another is where the top-pin is not in the same vertical plane as the bottom pins (they should be roughly in the same vertical plane, I've seen top pins 6-8" back from the bottom pins). Or, the top pin might be too close to a bracket making it impossible for the I-Match top hook to slip underneath. Sometimes some implement brackets may prevent the I-Match cams from pivoting out to lock the bottom pins in place. Hard to say without seeing it. ....

I think I recall in a previous thread, that, originally the JD ballast boxes were not I-Match compatible. And, that JD recently changed them (within the last couple years) to work with the I-Match system. ....
